Will my contribution be used to fund The Rebecca Center's on-site or outreach programs?
               The only contributions that ever go outside of our on-site clinic and forwarded to our outreach programs are those that individual donors have specifically designated. Basically, you can chose which program you would like your contribution to go towards. (For detailed information about our programs, click here.)

 

Will any percentage my contribution, to support The Rebecca Centers on-site program, go towards Molloy College?
               No. The Rebecca Center is a separate nonprofit entity from Molloy College. Although we have an affiliation with the College, The Center is only a guest at Molloy. We have our own Board of Directors, and our own budgets.

 

Is my Rebecca Center contribution tax deductible?
               Yes, if you itemize. The Tax Reform Act of 1986 allows itemizers to deduct 100% of their charitable contributions on their tax return. There are, however, certain limitations in the major cash gift category - in any one calendar year you can only deduct gifts equal to 50% of your adjusted gross income and you can only deduct in-kind gifts equal to 30% of your adjusted gross income. Further questions should be addressed to your financial advisor.

 

I can't afford to give to The Rebecca Center.
               You and your family are the only ones who can determine if you can afford to help. Charity does begin at home and there is no doubt that making ends meet is a common concern for many of us. However, when you give to The Rebecca Center, every gift. large or small makes a difference. Your gift can and will change lives! If your personal needs determine that you just can't contribute at this time, then you might consider donating something just as valuable, your time! Call us, if you would like to get involved. It will be the most rewarding time you'll spend!

 

How much of my contribution actually goes to help people?
               For individual donors, every dollar donated to The Rebecca Center for Music Therapy is directed to services.

 

I don't know how much to contribute.
               How much you should give to The Rebecca Center is a decision only you can make. The Rebecca Center believes that giving is a personal, private matter and that contributors should not be told how much they are expected to give. Remember, every gift, large or small, makes a difference!

 

I don't use The Rebecca Centers programs, so why should I contribute?
               You can help make a difference in someone's life! What a wonderful thing to be able to give back, and help others.
