Founder & Executive Director
John Carpente, PhD, LCAT, MT-BC
Dr. John A. Carpente is a professor of Music Therapy at Molloy University, where he conducts research and serves as the founder and director of the Rebecca Center for Music Therapy. With nearly 30 years of clinical, supervisory and research experience, he is a DIRFloortime Expert Practitioner and Trainer certified by the International Council on Development and Learning and has completed Level II postgraduate Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy training. Dr. Carpente earned his M.S. from New York University and his Ph.D. from Temple University. He pioneered the DIRFloortime-based music therapy model and developed the Individual Music-Centered Assessment Profile for Neurodevelopmental Disorders (IMCAP-ND). He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and and has received numerous awards for his innovative research and contributions to the field of music therapy. Dr. Carpente presents internationally, advancing music therapy practice, research, and education worldwide.

Jill Mulholland, MS, LCAT, MT-BC
Jill Mulholland is a professionally credentialed, board-certified music therapist. She received her Masters of Science degree in Music Therapy from Molloy University in Rockville Centre, NY. In 2011, Jill received her advanced certification in Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy at Molloy University. Jill has served as the Program Coordinator and Clinical Supervisor for The Rebecca Center since 2005. She has a broad range of clinical and supervisory experience and has presented her work on Developmental-relationship Based music therapy at various professional conferences.
Music Therapist & Clinical Supervisor
Diana Abourafeh, MS, MT-BC
Diana Abourafeh is a professionally credentialed, board certified music therapist. She received her Masters of Science degree in Music Therapy from Molloy College in 2018. Diana has a range of professional and clinical work experience, such as medical settings and with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. She has presented on relationship-based clinical work and research on developmental interventions at various professional conferences.
Administrative Assistant
Jeannine Perrin
Jeannine Perrin is the Administrative Assistant at The Rebecca Center for Music Therapy. She manages communications, scheduling, and billing, supporting daily operations with care and efficiency. Jeannine is dedicated to creating an organized, welcoming environment for clients and staff.
Music Therapy Intern
Kirsten Williams
Kirsten Williams is a music therapy intern at the Rebecca Center for Music Therapy at Molloy University. She is enrolled in the Dual Degree program at Molloy University and is pursuing both her Bachelor’s of Science in Music Therapy degree and Master’s of Science in Music Therapy degree at Molloy University. Kirsten has a range of experience working with neurodivergent children and young adults, with practicum experiences at clinical, school, and hospital settings.

Mike Kelliher, MS, MT-BC
Mike Kelliher is a professionally credentialed, board certified music therapist at the Rebecca Center for Music Therapy. Mike is an adjunct assistant professor of music and music therapy at Molloy University. He received his Bachelors and Masters of Science degree in Music Therapy from Molloy College in Rockville Centre, NY. Mike has completed advanced certification in Level 1 Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy from Molloy College. He has presented at professional conferences on his work within music-centered music therapy and relationship-based models of music therapy.
Music Therapy Intern
Lana Ferreira-Botex
Lana Botex is a music therapy intern at the Rebecca Center for Music Therapy at Molloy University. She is enrolled in the Dual Degree program at Molloy University and is pursuing both her Bachelor’s of Science in Music Therapy degree and Master’s of Science in Music Therapy degree at Molloy University. Lana did their first fieldwork experience at the Rebecca Center, and is happily returning for a full year. She has participated in the Rebecca Center's annual Unity Through Diversity event for the past three years and couldn’t be more excited for the year to come.
